Meet our Resin Wizard - Haida

Let us introduce you to the ever amazing Haida (pronounced hi-duh!) of Resin the Bar, our beautiful resin artist with a surprising background!

Born and raised in Singapore, Haida spent most of her life living right next to the beach so moving to Perth 14 years ago only seemed logical when she wanted to pursue Exercise & Health Science at university. Upon graduating 5.5 years later, she began working as an Accredited Exercise Scientist in the Pilbara, various country towns throughout WA and even in the Defence Force for a short stint in early 2020. Alongside all this work she won multiple Championship Titles for various sports including Dragon Boating and Powerlifting - definitely the strongest resin artist we know, winning the strongest Powerlifter in WA 5 times with a still unbeaten record of a 190kg deadlift!

Over time, her life became work, train, TV, sleep and repeat but she knew there was more to life and decided to delve into her creative side. After purchasing a resin clock from another local artist one year, she began her obsession - watching every YouTube video she could find and eventually deciding to give it a go by making her Mother in Law a resin beach clock for Christmas 2019. From that moment on, the rest is history.

Inspired by her love of the beach, Haida specialises in ocean style resin art, putting a little bit of the beach into every piece she creates, sometimes even including little sharks or stingrays!
Resin as a medium is quite durable once set and amazing to use for functional items; Haida utilises this by creating unique cheeseboards, coasters, clocks and canisters but has recently started to expand her range to include wall art and even artistic surfboards!

Haida really loves a challenge, often stepping out of her comfort zone for customer requests with excitement (and maybe a touch of fear at the same time) and giving it 110%. Even outside her art, she’s getting back into training and hoping to secure yet another Powerlifting Title!
