The talented Olga from Studio Thimbles will teach you the sewing essentials, including sewing machine basics, hemming, and all the way to stitching boxed corners on your custom tote bag. During the workshop, Olga will share a few of her special tips & tricks to help you become a sewing pro in no time.

This beginners workshop is perfect for anyone who has always wanted to try sewing or learn sewing basics, which can be used beyond the workshop to create your own pieces, mend items and make gifts.

Included in this workshop:

- All materials required to create your tote bag, including fabric. We will have a range of beautiful patterned fabrics for you to choose on the day.

- An introduction to setting up your sewing machine

- How to measure, mark and cut out the pattern for your tote bag

- Which tools to use and when

- Uses for different stitches and hemming

- How to stitch a boxed corner on your bag, which gives that store-bought finish to your bag

- A Sewing machine to use on the day. We want to make sure we are experts in the machines you are using so that if any issues arise we can troubleshoot them ASAP. Additionally making sure we have enough spare parts so everyone can enjoy the session without worry.
