Join us in West Perth, as we transform our workshop space into a sewing room. Our very own Emilie Otto, will teach you sewing basics and how to easily create a laptop case pattern (value of two workshops in one!). Em is a self taught sewing wiz, that loves to inspire people to get creative. She has created this case design especially for beginners.

This workshop includes sewing machine basics, creating a case pattern, to suit any laptop or tablet, sewing and making bias binding. During the workshop, Em will share a few of her special tips & tricks to help you become a sewing pro in no time.

This beginners workshop is perfect for anyone who has always wanted to try sewing or learn sewing basics, skills learnt in this workshop can be used beyond the workshop to create your own pieces.

What this workshop includes:

- An introduction to sewing basics
- Machine 101, including threading, winding a bobbin and other tips to get you started on a machine.
- Batting & a press stud provided for the project , BYO fabric (more details below)

- How to create a basic pattern from your laptop or iPad

- How to create & attach bias binding

- A Sewing machine to use on the day. We want to make sure we are experts in the machines you are using so that if any issues arise we can troubleshoot them ASAP. Additionally making sure we have enough spare parts so everyone can enjoy the session without worry.

- Free-flowing tea & coffee

- Afternoon tea to enjoy during the session

What you need to bring:

BYO fabric! We recommend quilting cotton for this project, please also bring matching cotton.
Em used 5 x fat quarters for this project.
Approx 120cm x 100cm for the case & 40cm x 40cm for the bias binding
* Each panel can be different fabrics
