Cacao & Clay - A mindful pottery workshop

  • House of Hobby Workshops 28 Drummond Place West Perth, WA, 6005 Australia (map)

The beautiful Tinesha will welcome you to our studio in West Perth where you will be guided through a 30 minute mindful cacao meditation before spending the rest of the workshop crafting your very own ceramic creations, whilst enjoying cacao.

Cacao is a great alternative to coffee that's packed with health benefits, it's also mood boosting which makes it a perfect match for our workshops.

After the ceremony we'll get our hands dirty, to sculpt and create beautiful clay mugs and vases, focusing on the free-form and organic qualities that you can achieve with hand-building techniques. Our expert will show you how to to create vases, bowls & mugs and then you can spend the next few hours creating whatever your heart desires.

This workshop is a perfect way to take some time for yourself or a catch up with friends. All skill levels are welcome!

Clay is a fun hobby, that is perfect for those wanting to try something different. This is a beautiful, mindful and creative experience that's not to be missed.

What this workshop includes:

- Cacao ceremony and meditation

-All equipment and tools required including clay

- Firing and glazing for 2 pieces

- Instructions & guidance from one of Perth’s best Ceramicists

- Cacao on arrival

- Gourmet grazing board to enjoy during the workshop

- Bottomless loose-leaf teas, coffee, and juice

What to bring:

Clay is wonderfully messy! It does wash out of clothes, but if you are super messy we'd recommend an apron. We have some at the venue if you forget.

Important info about this workshop:

Following the workshop, your pieces will be bisque fired, clear glazed, and glaze fired before being returned for you to collect and treasure within 6-8 weeks.

If you create more than 2 x items, you can pay a kiln & glazing fee per item to turn other creations into usable ceramic vessels. Pricing depends on the size of your creation.

Pottery can be challenging, sometimes on the first go, you might not create something you love. We will do our best to help coach you along the way. Ceramics can sometimes be unpredictable. Due to this, there are limitations on the size of your items, sadly pieces break during the firing process and we want to ensure you have a beautiful and functional piece. Trust us, we have had to learn from heartbreak!

Don't worry though our expert will cover all of this at the start of your workshop.

This 2 in 1 workshop experience is unlike any other and is not to be missed!

House of Hobby works with some of Perth's best creatives to ensure an unforgettable creative experience.

We can’t wait to introduce you to your next creative hobby. Tickets are strictly limited, Attendees must be over 18 years of age.
