A Quick Guide:

Step 1 - Melt the Wax
Handy calculation - Volume of the container (measure by filling with water and measuring the volume of water that container holds) Use double boiling method to melt wax. Handy tip amount of dry wax weighed in grams is the same as mls

Step 2 – Prep your Vessel
Stick down the wick in the centre of the container using the stickum and hold the wick upright with your wick holder.

Step 3 – Add your Fragrance & Colour
Once the wax reaches 70 degrees transfer your wax to a jug and add your fragrance- 10% fragrance to the volume of wax (i.e 300 grams = 30mls) This is also the point you would add your colour. For marble effect swirl with a skewer directly into the vessel

Step 4 – Pour your Candle
Once you have added the fragrance and colour (if using) you can carefully pour your wax into your vessel.

Bonus step – Once your candle has semi-dried, this is where you can add petals, crystals or other beautiful objects to your candle. Less is more when it comes to petals or dried flowers.

Step 5 – Let your candle set
Wait 24 hours before burning your gorgeous creation.

Candle burning tips

  • It is unsafe to use dried lavender or any dried flower that makes its own oil as its highly flammable

  • On the first burn, you should always melt right to the edge

  • Once it’s fully melted, blow out the flame

  • Next time you burn the candle, it will burn evenly

  • To maximize the burn time, limit to burns to 4 hours at a time. This is so your candle does not get overwhelmed and the container gets too hot.

  • Keep your wicks trimmed

  • Again, ONLY use a small amount of petals and remove any large flowers or petals before burning

Recycling your candles tips

  • To remove old wax - Fill your vessel with hot water, wait until the wax settles on top

  • Disregard the wax as you see fit

  • Clean the vessel with hot & soapy water

  • Now you are ready to use the vessel to make a new candle

  • Follow the steps in this workshop

  • Ta-da cute candle ready to go

A note on candle safety, if you bedazzle your candles luxe goodies like petals & crystals It is important to keep an eye on them, as they may light unexpectantly. As the candle burns down, remove any items to keep the candle burning at its best.
